Funding for Business
WD helps to fill the gap between traditional bank lending and the availability of venture capital for small business by working with not-for-profit organizations. The department accomplishes this through partnerships with its Western Canada Business Services network as well as individual agreements with commercial lenders.Community Futures offices offer loan programs (eligibility criteria) for rural entrepreneurs as well as the entrepreneurs with disabilities program (eligibility criteria) in rural communities.
Women's Enterprise Initiative offices provide loan programs (eligibility criteria) to assist women entrepreneurs.
