Good evening everyone.
I am happy to be here today on behalf of the Government of Canada.
In November last year, I had the pleasure of participating in the initial funding announcement for this exciting project and I’m delighted to return for the grand opening of the Watrous Centennial Arena.
Our Government is proud to have supported this initiative with an investment of over $50,000 through the Recreational Infrastructure Canada program.
The success of our Economic Action Plan is a tribute to the partnerships between local, provincial and federal governments.
Rising to the challenge of the worst economic downturn in half a century, everyone has worked together to keep people working, and to ensure a speedy, robust, and durable recovery.
Our Government will continue working with the West to help support our communities in remaining strong, healthy and resilient for generations to come.
Today’s event is about building a better future.
And I am confident that investments like this one will help ensure the West remains strong, because a stronger West means a stronger Canada.
Thank you and congratulations!
